Tehran (IP) - President of Iran’s National Olympic Committee Reza Salehi Amiri said, "Due to the Coronavirus outbreak and not having the competitions, we don’t know the opponents’ strengths and weaknesses, and although it is difficult to predict, I believe that Iranian athletes will shine at the Tokyo Olympics."

Iran PressIran News: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press, Reza Salehi Amiri, President of the National Olympic Committee of the Islamic Republic of Iran added that 11,000 athletes would participate in the Tokyo Olympics, and whoever tries harder will be more successful.

"The Iranian convoy has won 52 Olympic quotas, so far, and will receive another 20 quotas," he noted.

Salehi Amiri added that Chinese and Qataris hold well-planned training camps and are serious competitors for Iranian weightlifting, but Iranian athletes will shine at the Tokyo Olympics.

Speaking about the campaign to boycott Iran's sports, Reza Salehi Amiri also said the National Olympic Committee is an NGO and out of political controversies.
