Tehran (IP)- The spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the opening of the second official border point between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Pakistan on Saturday.

Iran Press/Iran News: Saeed Khatibzadeh said: "During the recent visit of Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif to Islamabad, Pakistan, the two sides agreed to open the Rimdan-Gabd border crossing between the two countries, which had already been negotiated.

Khatibzadeh further stated: "With the coordination between the officials of the two countries and the relevant agencies, the Rimdan-Gabd border as the second official border point between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Sistan and Baluchestan province will be inaugurated Saturday by the high-ranking officials of the two countries.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman called the opening of the border crossing a factor in increasing economic and trade exchanges between Iran and Pakistan and added: "The establishment of the border crossing between the friendly and neighboring countries and the recent opening of the Khaf-Herat railway shows the Islamic Republic of Iran gives special priority to interaction and cooperation with its neighbors and sees the way to growth and excellence of the West Asian region in close cooperation with neighboring countries.
