Iraq held its sixth parliamentary election since the fall of Saddam Hussein, as millions of citizens cast their votes on November 9 and 11 to choose 329 members of parliament from 19 provinces. The election featured 7,744 candidates representing 38 political parties, reflecting the country’s complex political diversity.
Compared to previous elections, the 2025 vote saw a significant increase in turnout compared to 2021. The Iraqi Prime Minister described this increase as "another step toward safeguarding the constitutional system".
