Built nearly 500 years ago under Shah Abbas I, the caravanserai is one of 999 constructed during the Safavid dynasty and has recently been restored to host travelers in traditional guest rooms.
Mehriz, historically linked to Mehrnegar, daughter of the Sassanid king Anushirvan, boasts a wealth of heritage sites, including the UNESCO-listed Pahlavanpour Garden, the Saryazd Fortress, and the unique circular Zein-o-Din Caravanserai along the Silk Road.
