The Israeli regime treats ceasefire agreements as 'mock deals' and will never uphold peace pacts with Lebanon or Gaza, Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky, leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, told Iran Press.

Why it matters:

Despite the current ceasefire, Israeli airstrikes continue across Gaza and parts of southern Lebanon.
Israeli attack, following the ceasefire, have killed hundreds of civilians — mostly women and children — with many more injured.

The big picture:

Since the ceasefire took effect on October 10, the Israeli regime has permitted only 20 percent of humanitarian aid trucks to enter the Gaza Strip, while bombardments persist. Analysts say the occupation uses the so-called “truce” merely as a tactical pause to regroup, not as a genuine move toward peace.

What he’s saying:

Zakzaky insisted that history proves Israel’s consistent disregard for peace deals.

Any agreement with the Zionists is just a sort of mock, he declared. They’ve never honored any truce — they sign on paper but violate in practice.

He said the occupation forces, frustrated by their battlefield failures, extend the war through mass killings to “buy time and destroy the Resistance.”

“You cannot murder a nation for decades and expect them to surrender their weapons,” he said. “Resistance is natural.”

Commenting on Lebanese President Joseph Aoun’s recent order instructing the national army to retaliate against Israeli attacks, Zakzaky welcomed the move

“This is a good development. The military must defend its nation — not just watch while its people are being slaughtered. We hope the Lebanese army and the resistance will unite to protect their homeland,” he added.

Zoom out:

Observers see Zakzaky’s remarks aligning with broader regional frustration over Israel’s continued offensives despite peace efforts. The war’s humanitarian toll deepens, and the resistance in Palestine and Lebanon grows more resolute — a factor Israel’s strategy has failed to undermine.
