Iran’s men’s national taekwondo team claimed the runner-up title at the 27th World Championships in China, earning gold, silver, and bronze medals, marking its first podium finish since 2017.

The achievement shows Iran’s resurgence in global taekwondo. Competing against nearly 1,000 athletes, Iran’s performance reaffirms its position among the sport’s elite nations.

 

The big picture:

The 27th World Taekwondo Championships were held in Wuxi, China, from October 23–28, with 989 athletes from various countries.

Iran secured the runner-up position at the World Taekwondo Championships in the men's division by winning three medals, gold, silver, and bronze, finishing behind South Korea. Brazil, Uzbekistan, and Egypt ranked third to fifth, respectively.
