Most vessels from the Sumud Flotilla, carrying 500 international activists, were stopped by Israeli forces on October 1st, three vessels persist. The Mikeno is the only vessel in Gaza coasts.

Why It Matters:

In August 2025, around 500 activists from 37 countries, using 44 boats, began set sail to break the siege on Gaza. After the Israeli regime stopped the first Freedom Flotilla, Sumud Flotilla sailed out to help the people in Gaza who are dealing with famine and humanitarian crisis. The group states this is the biggest effort yet to break Israel’s naval blockade of the Gaza Strip.

The Big Picture:

After the Tufan Al-Aqsa operation on October 7th, the world’s focus shifted to the ongoing occupation of Palestinian lands by the Zionist regime, leading to huge worldwide protests. By October 2025, about 65,000 people have been killed by Israel, mostly women and children. Additionally, approximately 453 people, including 150 children, have died from starvation.

Key Points:

These vessels are carrying food and medical supplies to the Gaza Strip.

On October 1st, nearly 40 out of the 44 Sumud flotilla vessels were stopped by the Israeli regime. So far, three vessels have been confirmed to be continuing their journey to Gaza.

Multiple countries, including Iran, have criticized the attacks on the vessels. Spain summoned the Israeli Ambassador regarding the arrest of Spanish participants.

The closest vessel to the Gaza coast is the Mikeno, which has not been intercepted yet.
