Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met with Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC) Secretary-General Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi on Saturday in New York, on the sidelines of the 80th UN General Assembly.

Talks focused on expanding ties between Iran and PGCC member states, with an emphasis on building trust and addressing shared regional challenges.

Al-Budaiwi called for closer Iran-PGCC relations vital for regional stability and voiced concern over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, stressing the international community’s responsibility to stop Israeli genocide in Gaza.

Araghchi arrived in New York on Monday, 22 September, for participation in the 80th United Nations General Assembly and has held numerous bilateral meetings with foreign ministers and international officials alongside UN sessions.
