Dep. FM meets his Afghan counterpart in Kabul

Kabul (IP)- During his visit to Kabul, the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister met with Afghanistan Deputy Foreign Minister and Afghanistan National Security Adviser Hamdullah Mohib and said that long-term cooperation between the two countries would be finalized.

Iran Press/Asia: Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, expressed hope that the comprehensive document on long-term cooperation between the two countries would be finalized and ready to be signed soon.

He also condemned today's rocket attacks in Afghanistan that killed and injured several Afghan citizens.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed peace talks between the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and the Taliban and Iran's role in establishing a regional consensus on Afghanistan's political and security situation and expanding political, economic, and trade relations between the two countries.

In this meeting, Mirwais Nab expressed his gratitude for the hosting of Afghan refugees in Iran and Tehran's support for the Afghan peace talks, congratulating the Khaf-Herat railway's inauguration.

He also considered the railway an important and fundamental step towards strengthening and expanding relations between Kabul and Tehran. 

Araghchi also met with Afghan National Security Adviser Hamdullah Mohib to discuss security and the Afghan peace process.

During the meeting, the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister emphasized Tehran's support for the Afghan government and constitution.
