So far, Amirhossein Zare (125 kg) has won a gold medal. Young wrestlers Ahmad Mohammadnejad and Kamran Ghasempour, along with Mohammad Nakhodi and Amirhossein Firouzpur, have won silver and bronze medals.

The last time Iran's national freestyle wrestling team won the world championship title was at the 2013 World Championships in Budapest. Now, after 12 years, this championship has been repeated.
