At the 2025 World Wrestling Championships in Zagreb, Croatia, Iran's freestyle team won one gold medal, one silver medal, and three bronze medals across eight weight classes, clinching the early world championship title ahead of the United States.
So far, Amirhossein Zare (125 kg) has won a gold medal. Young wrestlers Ahmad Mohammadnejad and Kamran Ghasempour, along with Mohammad Nakhodi and Amirhossein Firouzpur, have won silver and bronze medals.
Iran has two finalists in the remaining weight classes: Rahman Amouzad (65 kg) and Amirali Azarpira (97 kg), who will compete for gold medals tomorrow night.
The last time Iran's national freestyle wrestling team won the world championship title was at the 2013 World Championships in Budapest. Now, after 12 years, this championship has been repeated.
