Tehran (IP) - Iran’s defense minister says the assassination of Mohsen Fakhrizadeh will not affect Iran's determination to support the Resistance Front in the region.

Iran PressIran news: “Undoubtedly, the terrorist act of the enemy will not affect the goals of the Islamic Republic of Iran. We will continue the scientific path of Martyr Fakhrizadeh in the fields of nuclear and defense with strength,” Defense Minister Brigadier-General Amir Hatami told Iran Press in an exclusive interview on Tuesday on the sidelines of the signing ceremony of the memorial note of Martyr Fakhrizadeh.

“We will support the axis of resistance and the resistance fighters in Syria and Iraq, as well as the governments, nations, and the armed forces, so that we can eradicate terrorism in the region,” he added.

“This is a serious determination and it will definitely happen,” Gen. Hatami stressed.

The top military official emphasized that the enemy carried out this assassination out of desperation.

Referring to his meeting with the Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad, Iran’s defense minister said that at the meeting, the two sides discussed mutual cooperation and plans regarding the assassination of Martyr Fakhrizadeh.

The Syrian foreign minister met the Iranian minister of defense on the sidelines of the ceremony of signing the memorial book of Martyr Fakhrizadeh.

The Syrian foreign minister and ambassadors of various countries and military attaché in Tehran signed the memorial note of Martyr Fakhrizadeh in a ceremony on Tuesday.

Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, head of the Research and Innovation Organization of the Ministry of Defense of Iran was martyred in a terrorist attack on the outskirts of Tehran on November 27.
