Amirhossein Honarvar, a prominent Iranian photographer, received a Jury Commendation at the Fine Shot International Photo Festival in Canada for his photo depicting a traditional Iranian espadrille (giveh) craftsman at work.

The big picture:

The Fine Shot Festival, organized under the auspices of FIAP (International Federation of Photographic Art), a UNESCO-recognized body, hosted photographers from over 45 countries including Australia, China, the U.S., France, Italy, Germany, and Brazil. Honarvar’s work stood out among international submissions, with eight of his photos accepted by the jury, several of which focus on Iranian handicrafts.
