Why it matters:
The U.S., a claimant of the human rights, accuses other independents of violation human rights because they are just independent. Hyping itself as an advocate of human rights, the U.S. does not tell why it targeted an Iranian passenger airplane, Flight 655, amid sky and killed all of its passengers.
The big picture:
Each year, the U.S. State Department releases an annual report assessing human rights conditions around the world. Despite this role, critics argue that the United States itself ranks among the leading violators of the very principles. Iran says that U.S. support for authoritarian regimes and military actions in nations such as Iraq and Afghanistan has left a troubling legacy, particularly concerning the treatment of prisoners.
What he's saying:
Vahid Jalalzadeh: “It is difficult to believe that anyone remains unaware of the double standards applied by the U.S. and its allies. ... Western narratives are repeated endlessly in an attempt to transform falsehood into accepted truth.”
He further said that Iran, despite accounting for just 2 percent of global nuclear activity, is subject to 75 percent of the International Atomic Energy Agency’s inspections, and continues to be accused of non-compliance.
