The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) warned Monday that Gaza’s food system is on the brink of complete collapse, with the humanitarian aid blocked threatening more lives amid worsening famine conditions.

Why it matters:

With acute malnutrition rates doubling among children and infant formula supplies running dangerously low, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza is intensifying, putting thousands of lives at risk.

The big picture:

Families in Gaza are reportedly risking their lives just to obtain food. Claiming the lives of over 57,000 Gazans, the Israeli regime's strikes on the strip destroyed the vital infrasteructure.

Israel says it wants to destroy Hamas resistance group and free the Zionist captives, but it has failed to do so since October 2023.

OCHA’s statement proves the grave consequences of continued aid restrictions on civilian populations.

State of play:

Hamas expressed a ceasfie mdeiated by Qatar, but the Israeli regime rejected it as unacceptabel.
