Araghchi emphasized, “All Iranians stood united in defending the country, demonstrating our invincibility.” He provided insights into recent developments and Iran’s foreign policy during the interview.
Addressing past experiences, Araghchi noted, “We have experienced the U.S. betraying us during negotiations, and this is a critical consideration in our assessments.”
Regarding Trump’s remarks, he clarified, “No agreement has been reached to resume talks, nor has there even been a discussion about negotiations. There is currently no basis for negotiations.”
He added, “The Zionist regime, out of desperation, reached a point where it had to halt its aggression. The U.S. President changes his statements hourly. I noticed the opposing side’s narrative claiming mediation had taken place, so I intervened to neutralize it and present the correct account. The regime requested that the operations cease. The final, highly effective strikes were carried out by our armed forces.”
Araghchi stressed, “I explicitly told third parties to inform the regime that Iran is not Lebanon. If they take any action, we will respond in kind. I hope they respect the ceasefire, as we will show no leniency. In a call with a European party, I clearly stated, ‘Tell them Iran is not Lebanon, and if the ceasefire is violated, Iran will respond.’"
Regarding the state of diplomacy and negotiations, the Foreign Minister explained, “Diplomacy always exists—before war to prevent it, during war, and after war. Negotiations are a part of diplomacy. When we speak of negotiations, it does not imply an agreement; it is done to fulfill our duty. In negotiations, we maintained clear positions and did not compromise, turning them into a final warning. How diplomacy will proceed from here requires further examination.”
