Group of Friends in Defense of the U.N. Charter condemned the U.S.  aggression against Iranian nuclear facilities.

Group of Friends in Defense of the Charter of the United Nations has strongly condemned the heinous atrocity and crime committed by the U.S. against Iranian nuclear facilities.

In a joint statement, member states of the Group of Friends in Defense of the United Nations Charter condemned recent U.S. military actions targeting Iran's nuclear facilities.

On June 22, U.S. bombers struck three Iranian nuclear sites located in Isfahan, Natanz, and Fordow.

Member countries of the Group of Friends in Defense of the UN Charter emphasized that the recent U.S. military action constitutes a flagrant violation of Iran's national sovereignty, a clear breach of the UN Charter, and a gross act of aggression against the fundamental principles of international law, particularly the prohibition of the use or threat of force.

The statement further noted that targeting nuclear facilities under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) represents an egregious breach of the IAEA Statute and poses a serious threat to global nuclear security. The group called for a firm response from the UN Secretary-General and the Director General of the IAEA to condemn the attack.

The signatories also demanded the immediate cessation of threats and the use of force by the United States and Israel against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The statement concluded by expressing the group’s full solidarity and unconditional support for the Iranian government and people in the face of these “brutal attacks” and "severe infringement of Iran’s sovereignty."
