Addressing the Council, Foreign Minister Araghchi detailed the Israeli regime's attacks targeting not only military infrastructure but also civilian areas, including residential buildings, hospitals, nuclear facilities and even the Foreign Ministry itself.
He specifically highlighted the targeting of nuclear facilities as a “significant war crime” due to the potential for radioactive contamination and risk to public health.
“Israel’s aggression cannot and must not be justified under any legal or moral standard, any sort of justification for this unjust and criminal war equals participation in that crime.” Araghchi stated.
“Iran, as a founding member of the United Nations, rightfully expects that each of you stand next to justice, rule of law, and the fundamental principles of humanity and morality,” he noted.
Last Friday, the Israeli regime, in a blatant violation of international laws and Iran’s national sovereignty, targeted areas in Tehran and some other cities in a military attack. During this terrorist attack, several military commanders, scientists, and civilian citizens were martyred.
In response, Iran’s military forces launched Operation True Promise-3 against the regime.
