“We stand on the same front and in the same trench with the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Mr. al-Sudani said, according to a statement. “We strongly condemn the Zionist regime’s aggression at all levels.”
Iran’s president, Masoud Pezeshkian, said the Israeli regime has violated international norms by launching the attack from Iraqi airspace, calling it proof of the Israeli regime’s disregard for global rules.
“We did not start this war, but we responded decisively,” Pezeshkian said. “If the aggression continues, the aggressors will face even more severe consequences.”
He added that any nation committed to peace and stability should oppose Israeli aggression.
Pezeshkian also urged Iraq to tighten control over its borders and airspace to prevent its territory from being used against Iran.
