Persian Gulf Cooperation Council Denounces Attack
Jassem Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, Secretary-General of Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), condemned the strike in a phone call with Iran’s Foreign Minister, calling it a "blatant violation of international law" and a "serious threat to regional security." He urged the United Nations Security Council and the international community to take immediate action to halt further aggression.
In response, Iran’s Foreign Minister reaffirmed the country’s right to self-defense, stating that the armed forces would deliver a "strong and decisive" retaliation.
Kuwait’s Firm Stance
Kuwait’s Foreign Minister also strongly criticized the attack in a separate call, warning that such actions endanger regional stability. Iran’s top diplomat reiterated that Tehran will not hesitate to defend its sovereignty and national security.
Italy Calls for Restraint
Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani spoke with his Iranian counterpart, expressing concern over the escalation. The Iranian Foreign Minister condemned the targeting of civilian and nuclear facilities, calling it a "grave breach of international law" and demanding that the European Union formally denounce the attack.
Tajani stated that Italy considers Israel’s actions "unacceptable" and has urged Israeli officials to avoid further provocations.
Growing International Concern
The attack has sparked global alarm, with many nations warning of the risk of a wider conflict. Iranian officials maintain that their response will be proportionate but firm, while the international community calls for de-escalation to prevent further instability in the region.
Analysts warn that without immediate diplomatic intervention, tensions could spiral into a broader confrontation, with unpredictable consequences for the Middle East and beyond.
