Vienna (IP) - Iran’s UN envoy sent a letter to Ghada Fathi Waly, Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), asking her to condemn the assassination of Mohsen Fakhrizadeh as a terrorist and inhumane act.

Iran Press/Europe: Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office and International Organizations, wrote in the letter: "The clear evidence shows the involvement and responsibility of the Israeli regime in this terrorist attack, especially since the Israeli authorities had repeatedly mentioned Fakhrizadeh and had planned to assassinate him several times."

"Such a ruthless terrorist act, like any other terrorist acts, poses a threat to international peace and security and is contrary to the fundamental principles of international law and the UN Charter as well as fundamental human rights," Gharibabadi added.

Gharibabadi stated: "Today, the claimants of Human rights and international organizations are under a serious historical test and must be held accountable to the Iranian nation."

Friday afternoon, armed terrorists attacked the car carrying Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, the head of the Research and Innovation Organization of the Ministry of Defense, and the top Iranian scientist was martyred.

Many countries, including Russia, Venezuela, South Africa, Qatar, and Turkey, condemned the assassination.
