Tehran (IP) - A ceremony on public health donation items named "Donating Breath" was held on Sunday, aiming at helping those in need of medical equipment such as oxygen capsules, masks, and manometers during the coronavirus pandemic.

Iran PressIran News: The ceremony, where Iranians inside and outside the country contributed in was held at Tehran's Relief and Rescue Organization in the presence of Deputy Minister of Health and Medical Education, Ghasem Janbabaei, and Chief of the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) Karim Hemmati.

Referring to the third wave of the COVID-19 both in Iran and the world, Hemmati noted that the disease won’t be contained unless everybody helps in this regard.

“The country is in need of ventilators and oxygen-making equipment now,” he added.

Speaking at the ceremony, Janbabaei pointed to a longer time for the disease to last as well as the long procedure for its removal, stating the virus is too dangerous, so any ignorance will lead to disaster.

“Equipping hospitals with ventilators and oxygen capsules is crucial during the coronavirus pandemic because, with the mutation of the virus, the country's hospitals will face the shortages of the items,” he noted.

Janbabaei expressed hope that with people's cooperation and implementing health protocols, the disease would be contained.
