Iran Press/ Iran news: Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, head of the Research and Innovation Organization of the Ministry of Defense, was assassinated and martyred on Friday afternoon local time in Damavand, Tehran Province, by unknown individuals during an armed conflict with his bodyguards.
In a message to Brigadier General Amir Hatami, Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces Logistics, Ali Akbar Salehi noted: "the news of the cowardly assassination of Martyr Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, who spent many years of his blessed life endeavoring to upgrade the defense capabilities of Islamic Iran, caused deep regret and sorrow."
Ali Akbar Salehi also congratulated the martyrdom of this prominent scientist and successful director to Iran's Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, the people of Iran, his colleagues in the Ministry of Defense and his family. 219
