Kabul (IP) - The Iranian ambassador to Afghanistan said that countries that have committed war crimes in Afghanistan in recent years must be held accountable.

Iran Press/Asia: In an exclusive interview with IranPress in Kabul, Bahador Aminian, Iran's ambassador to Afghanistan, referred to the report on the killing of Afghans by the Australian military, stating that the perpetrators of crimes against the Afghan people must be held accountable.

Aminian stressed that these crimes that have left a bad impression on the minds of the Afghan people should not remain unanswered.

The Iranian ambassador to Afghanistan also spoke about the importance of Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh's visit to Kabul, saying that the two countries have different dimensions of ties and in addition to political and security ties, there are cultural and civilizational ties between Iran and Afghanistan.

He added that Mr. Khatibzadeh's visit to Kabul emphasizes the dimensions of cultural and civilizational ties between the two countries and I hope these dimensions will expand.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh has traveled to Kabul to visit the Tehran embassy in Kabul, which was recently targeted by a rocket fired by the ISIS terrorist group, and to talk with Afghan media.
