Iran Press/ Iran news: The General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces on Monday in a statement while commemorating the anniversary of the establishment of the Basij (Sāzmān-e Basij-e Mostaz'afin) by the order of Imam Khomeini (RA), called the Basij a great asset of the Islamic Revolution of Iran.
"Today, Basij is more than a defense force to deal with severe threats, and by introducing comprehensive and multi-purpose capabilities and potentials, it serves as the great capital of the Islamic Revolution to thwart hard, semi-hard conspiracies and soft warfare of enemies, untying the knot of various problems and challenges."
In this statement, the General Staff of the Armed Forces described and emphasized the Basij culture and thoughts as a constant need of the revolution-based and Islamic society of Iran, saying: “Active and effective presence in critical events and various fields all across the country and society is a sign of Basij rationality, tact, and awareness of time."
Elsewhere, the statement noted: "Basij, as the most important and significant social capital of the system, is a symbol of readiness and all-out authority of Islamic Iran and the front line of national plans to create great epics of progress in the second step of the Islamic Revolution to reach the highest peaks of global dignity and civilization."
