Iranian & Azerbaijani Officials Consult Religious Cooperations

Iran's Cultural Attaché to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ghorbanali Pourmarjan, and Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations in Azerbaijan, Mubariz Gurbanlı, stressed the importance of expanding bilateral religious cooperation.

Iran PressAsia: Ghorbanali Pourmarjan, Cultural Attaché of the Iranian Embassy in Baku, on Tuesday met Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations in Azerbaijan, Mubariz Gurbanlı.

In the meeting, Ghorban Ali Pourmarjan referred to the Iranian leader's comments about the new Islamic civilization and said: "Islamic countries should play a role in modern Islamic society."

Referring to the propaganda of Islamophobia by Western countries, Mubariz Gurbanlı said: "The roots of violence, takfiris, and extremists are mainly in the Western world and European countries, but by accusing the Islamic world of extremism, they promote and propagate Islamophobia in different countries."

Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations in Azerbaijan, Mubariz Gurbanlı, added: "The main task of Islamic countries is to put aside differences and achieve peace, unity, and solidarity."
