Iranian envoy stresses end to siege, war in Yemen

Iran's ambassador to Yemen stressed the end of the siege and the war against the innocent people of Yemen.

Iran PressMiddle East: Iranian Ambassador to Sana'a Hassan Irlou, in a meeting with Member of Yemen Supreme Political Council Sultan al-Samei, stated that Iran will spare no effort to achieve peace in Yemen and end the suffering of its people.

Sultan al-Samei also praised Iran's position on calling for an end to the war and the siege against Yemen and said that the Supreme Political Council and the Yemeni National Salvation Government will provide the necessary facilities to help Iran's ambassador fulfill his duties in order to serve the distinctive relations between the two countries.

Irlou and al-Samei also discussed Iran-Yemen relations and ways to strengthen them in the interests of the two countries.

Saudi Arabia, with the support of the UAE, the US, and several other countries, has launched a military invasion and laid a land, sea, and air siege to Yemen since March 2015.

The warmongering by Saudi Arabia and its allies in Yemen has killed more than 16,000 Yemenis, injured tens of thousands, and displaced millions so far.
