Deputy Speaker of Iran's Parliament said that Chabahar Port in the southeast of Iran, is one of the most important and old ports in the country with strategic activities.

Iran PressIran News: Amirhossein Qazizadeh Hashemi in an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Wednesday noted that Chabahar Port has long played an important role in Iran's marine trade, and considered as one of the bases of the marine Silk Road. 

Qazizadeh Hashemi emphasized that the development of Chabahar's strategic port and the centrality of the port in maritime trade and transit of goods is of interest to Iran, adding Chabahar port is the closest one to Central Asian countries and Afghanistan. 

Deputy Speaker of Iran's Parliament said with the development of Chabahar port and the completion of its transportation routes, it will become a major hub of world trade. 

Chabahar is a port city located in Sistan and Baluchestan province, southeast of Iran.
