Qom (IP) - Explaining the double standards of the West's behavior over freedom, the head of Iran's seminaries called for the formulation of international principles to ensure maximum peace through the interaction and joint cooperation of international and Islamic institutions.

Iran PressIran News: Ayatollah Alireza Arafi pointed to the West's insult to the Holy Prophet of Islam and said on Sunday that various groups in the Islamic world condemned the disgusting move, and the seminary and religious authorities also took a stand against the insults done under freedom of expression.

"Insulting the Holy Prophet of Islam is an action that can intensify war and strife in the world and weaken peace, and we say from the standpoint of peace and interaction between religions that divine figures should not be insulted," Ayatollah Arafi said.

He expressed regrets over some Arab political figures' defense of such insults and stressed that the French president Emanuel Macron must know that he is the most hated person in the Muslim world because of his defense of the insults to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Those figures who defend these ugly movements take a stand with regret in the Holocaust and the issues of their own country, and no one dares to say anything against them or their sacred cows, he said pointing to the West's double standards.

The French magazine Charlie Hebdo has recently re-published insulting cartoons about the Prophet of Islam Muhammad (PBUH). French President Emmanuel Macron has also announced that France will continue to publish insulting cartoons against the Prophet of Islam (PBUH).
