Moscow (IP)- Criticizing the publication of an insulting cartoon against the Prophet of Islam (PBUH), the spokesman for the Russian president called it unacceptable to insult the sanctities and hurt the believers' feelings.

Iran PressEurope: In response to the escalation of violence due to the French president's insult to the Prophet of Islam (PBUH), Dmitry Peskov said that insulting the believers' beliefs is unacceptable and illegal. 

The spokesman for Russia's president stressed the need to refrain from such insulting acts.

After the assassination of a history teacher in Paris who displayed insulting images of the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) in classrooms, Emmanuel Macron, while supporting the publication of such images, stressed that his country would continue to support the publication of these images under the pretext of freedom of expression. 

Following Macron's statement, protest and demonstrations erupted across the country and Islamic countries. 

Macron has also faced widespread criticism and condemnation from officials and personalities around the world.

Today, In a recent development, an attacker with a knife killed two people and wounded several others at a church in the French city of Nice, French media, and police said, in an incident the city's mayor described as terrorism.
