Iran Press/Iran News: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press on the sidelines of the national championship golf competitions on the golf course of Enqelab Sports Complex in Tehran, Hamid Azizi stated on Thursday that the best Golfers had taken part in the competitions.
The president of the Iran Golf Federation noted that golf is currently active in 29 provinces and 4 Free and Special Economic Zones, but athletes in this field should practice more to have something up in their sleeves in West Asia, Asia, the world.
Dr. Azizi added that Iran's national youth golf team is scheduled to participate in the 2026 Youth Olympic Games.
The Iranian Golf Federation president said, "We tried to select half of the golfers to be sent, from among the youth under 18 so that we could train a youth team for the future."
Azizi added that efforts had been made to popularize golf, 400 mini-golf courses, and 30 golf training ranges set up in different provinces during the last 18 months.
The Iran golf championship was held on Thursday morning, with 55 golfers from 12 provinces at the Enqelab Sports Complex golf course in Tehran.
