Consultations of Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Envoy Sayyed Abbas Araghchi on Tehran's proposal for a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict began in Baku on Wednesday.

Iran Press/Asia: Arriving in Baku, Araghchi met with Khalaf Khalafov, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, then the talks between Iran’s special envoy and the Azeri side continued in the presence of Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.

During the talks, the Iranian deputy foreign minister also met with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Shahin Mustafayev.

Meeting with Hekmat Hajiyev, assistant to Azerbaijan’s president, is another program of the one-day visit of Iran’s special envoy to Baku. 

Sayyed Abbas Araghchi is also scheduled to travel to Armenia, Turkey, and Russia to promote the Islamic Republic of Iran's proposed initiative for a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
