Tehran (IP) - Iran’s Police Chief Brigadier General Hossein Ashtari says the police forces have stood beside medical staff to ensuring security and health for the people.

Iran Press/Iran news: Referring to security and health as two critical issues and the motto of Police Week as "Together for Security and Health," Ashatari said on Wednesday that police forces have stood beside medical staff and have prepared all its hospitals for patients amid the coronavirus outbreak.

Delivering a speech in the open session of the parliament and on the occasion of 'Police Week,’ he added: "Cooperating with Basij forces, the police forces have paved the way for social distancing and observing health protocols."

The police chief said that the police forces are active in 8755 km of Iran's border.

"Police force has more than 10000 permanent and 30000 mobile headquarters," he highlighted.

“The police forces are in charge of supporting the security of the Islamic society as the most valued property of the country, and we owe this security to the veterans, armed forces, martyrs, and police staff,” Ashatari said.

"More than 70 million various services are given to people annually since security is essential to achieve all goals," he stated.

"One of the most important goals of the police force is to have smart police, and we hope to achieve this goal with the latest equipment and technology," he concluded.

At the same parliament session, the parliamentarians issued a statement praising the police force and expressed that Iran's security, peace, and authority owe much to the selfless efforts of the police force who resolutely and authoritatively stand up against lawbreakers and violators.
