Iran-Afghanistan 6th Joint Economic Committee meeting, soon

Tehran (IP) - The Iranian Minister of Energy announced the holding of the sixth meeting of the Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation between Iran and Afghanistan due in Kabul.

Iran PressIran news: "Topics related to the launch of the Herat-Khaf railway, customs cooperation, border markets, and energy issues will be discussed at the 6th meeting of the Iran-Afghanistan Joint Economic Cooperation Commission," Iranian Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian said on Monday.

Although the Iranian Minister of Energy did not announce an exact date for the joint meeting, he had previously said that the joint commission between the two countries would be October 25.

Afghanistan and Iran have close and friendly relations in various political, economic, social, and cultural sectors, and Iran has cooperated with the Afghan government in various fields in recent years, the most important of which is the Herat-Khaf railway project, which will be inaugurated in the coming months.

The Chairman of the Supreme National Reconciliation Council of Afghanistan, Abdullah Abdullah, also arrived in Tehran on Sunday for a three-day visit and meeting with Iran's high-ranking officials to discuss the ways to expand bilateral relations and peace and stability in Afghanistan.
