Iran Press/Iran news: Speaking on Sunday at a meeting with Abdullah Abdullah, head of High Council for National Reconciliation of Afghanistan, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif reaffirmed the support of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and the peace process led by Afghans, and the agreements reached between the participants in the intra-Afghan talks.
He praised Abdullah's participation in the political process and his acceptance of the responsibility of the High Council for National Reconciliation of Afghanistan.
Zarif announced Iran's support for the Taliban's participation in the political structure of Afghanistan.

Abdullah Abdullah has traveled to Pakistan and New Delhi ahead of the visit to Tehran and is working to build a regional consensus to support the peace process so that talks with the Taliban in Doha can end the war permanently.
He is accompanied on the trip by several government officials, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and some members of the House of Representatives.
Afghan political experts believe that the Islamic Republic of Iran’s role is crucial in the Afghan peace process and that Iran can play a decisive role in ensuring lasting peace and stability in Afghanistan.
