Iran Press/ Asia: News sources reported that "Zalmay Khalilzad" had fruitless meetings with the negotiating team of the Afghan government and the Taliban regarding the inter-Afghan talks.
Zalmay Khalilzad has failed in the past 12 days in Doha to persuade the warring parties in Afghanistan to reach the ceasefire and end the war in the country, while the United States itself is the main cause of the war, the spread of terrorism, and the killing of innocent people.
Meanwhile, Pakistani Daily Times reported that Khalilzad had paid a secret visit to Rawalpindi before his recent consultations with the Afghan Government-Taliban peace negotiating team and met with Pakistani Army Commander Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa to advance the negotiation process.
US President Donald Trump has stepped up his efforts to establish a temporary ceasefire or deceptive peace in Afghanistan as the November elections approach.
