News sources reported on Monday that the US army is building a new military base in the occupied territories of Syria.

Iran PressMiddle East: The US military is currently building a new military base in the al-Baghuz area of southeastern Deir Ez-Zor province in eastern Syria, Sputnik news agency reported.

According to Sputnik, the first steps in building this illegal base on Syrian soil began with the preparation of a runway for helicopters to bring logistics equipment into the area.

Meanwhile, local sources said that the US military on Monday deployed a number of Kurdish militias known as the Washington-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) "Qasd" at several points around the base.

In recent months, the United States has smuggled thousands of trucks carrying weapons and military equipment and logistics into Syria through illegal crossings to bolster its illegal presence in the country in facilitating to steal oil and other Syrian natural resources.

The United States and its allies are currently in Syria illegally under the pretext of fighting terrorist groups (without the permission of the Syrian government).

The crisis in Syria began in 2011 with a massive offensive by terrorist groups backed by Saudi Arabia, the United States and their allies to shift the regional equation in favor of the Zionist regime.
