Iran Press/ Middle East: "Western unilateral sanctions against Syria and Cuba have been imposed with the aim of breaking the will and weakening the independent decision-making power of Damascus and Havana, which will not be achieved," Hamouda Sabbagh stressed during the meeting.
The Cuban ambassador also stressed his country's support for the Syrian leadership, army, and people in the fight against terrorism and the unilateral US sanctions, saying: "Washington's recent move to tighten sanctions on Cuba and Syria requires increasing cooperation and coordination between the two countries in the face of US and Western dictates."
The Cuban ambassador also stressed the importance of strengthening Cuban-Syrian relations, saying: "No one can change the united position of Syria and Cuba on various issues."
Syria and Cuba, as two independent states, have always stood up to Washington's hegemonic policies and actions.
