Tehran (IP) - In a phone call, Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Pezeshkian on his election as the president-elect of the Iranian nation.

Iran PressIran news: In this phone call, the President of Russia, while wishing success for Pezeshkian in the great responsibility ahead, as well as well-being and prosperity for the Iranian nation, stated that relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Russia are at the highest level.

He also expressed hope that these relations would continue during the presidency of the elected president thanks to the implementation of the agreements made between the two countries in the administration of Martyred Raisi.

Vladimir Putin also referred to the expanding cooperation between Iran and Russia, especially in the energy and transportation sector, while inviting Pezeshkian to participate in the upcoming BRICS summit in Kazan, putting stress on Russia's readiness to sign a comprehensive cooperation agreement between the two countries on the sidelines of this Summit meeting.

In turn, the president-elect emphasized the efforts of the new government to follow up and implement the agreements made in the administration of Martyr Raisi.

Pezeshkian also considered the cooperation of the two countries in international and regional organizations and agreements such as Shanghai, BRICS, and Eurasia important and said: "The documents of the comprehensive cooperation agreement between Iran and Russia have been finalized and we are ready to sign it on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Russia."
