Iran honors war veterans of Holy Defense

Tehran (IP) - The ceremony of honoring the commanders and officials who have narrated the oral history of the Holy Defense was held in the presence of the Chief Commander of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), Major General Hossein Salami.

Iran Press/Iran news: On Monday morning, a ceremony honoring the commanders and officials who have narrated the oral history of the Holy Defense, as well as honoring the families of the martyrs, was held at the National Exhibition of Achievements of Holy Defense and Resistance entitled "Eqtedar- (Authority) 40 ."

During the ceremony, new documentary and research works of the War Documentation and Research Center were unveiled.

The Holy Defense Week is an annual event held to commemorate eight years of resistance against the invading forces of former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein who launched a war on Iran from September 22, 1980, to August 20, 1988. 214

Iran is celebrating the Sacred Defense Week on the 40th anniversary of the start of Iraq’s Baath Regime imposed war on the Islamic Republic.
