80 killed, injured due to explosion in Saudi base, northern Yemen

Media sources reported that a base affiliated with the Saudi coalition in northern Yemen exploded, killing and injuring about 80 people.

Iran PressMiddle East: The al-Yemeni news website reported that the Saudi-affiliated elements' base in the Arab region of northern Yemen, which overlooks the Asir region in southern Saudi Arabia, witnessed the blast last night (Thursday).

The exact number of casualties is not yet known, but some sources say about 80 people were killed and injured in the blast.

The cause of the explosion also is not yet clear. 

Saudi Arabia, with the support of the United States, the United Arab Emirates, and several other countries, has been invading and besieging Yemen since March 2015.

The outbreak of war by Saudi Arabia and its allies in Yemen has killed tens of thousands and have made millions of Yemenis homeless.
