Iran, Tajikistan stress expansion of parliamentary ties

The Iranian ambassador to Dushanbe and the Speaker of the Tajik parliament stressed the importance of inter-parliamentary relations in expanding relations between the two countries.

Iran PressAsia: The Iranian Ambassador to Dushanbe, Mohammad Taqi Saberi in a meeting with the Speaker of the Tajik parliament Mohammad Taer Zakerzadeh pointed to the importance of Iran and Tajikistan's parliaments and their role in expanding bilateral ties, announcing his readiness to cooperate with Tajikistan in different areas.

Saberi considered the capacities of cooperation in various fields, especially in the economic field, between Iran and Tajikistan, higher than the current level, and added that doubled cooperation is necessary to compensate for the economic damage in the post-corona period.

The Speaker of the Tajik parliament Mohammad Taer Zakerzadeh for his part referred to the common grounds of the two countries and pointed out that Iran was among the first countries that recognized the independence of Tajikistan and opened its embassy in Dushanbe. 

Also stressing the role of inter-parliamentary relations in the expansion of relations between nations and governments, Zakerzadeh considered the establishment of friendship and cooperation groups between the two countries' parliaments a significant step in strengthening the cooperation.
