Iran Press/Iran News: Delivering a speech in the opening ceremony of the 16th international Resistance Film Festiva, Brigadier General Mohammad Hossein Sepehr added that one of the achievements of our sacred defense was to educate the religious, and Islamic principles in the social area and export them to the world.
He emphasized that we must make the world aware of Iran's 40-year resistance and eight years of its sacred defense by holding these festivals.
"We can introduce the thoughts, culture, and art of confrontation and resistance of Iranian to the world by producing sacred defense films." the General stated.
The secretary of the festival Mehdi Azimi Mirabadi, also stated that the purpose of holding this festival is to train and stabilize the cinema of the revolution and the sacred defense.
He stressed that artists and filmmakers should continue martyrs' path by producing films about sacred defense and preserving their values.
The 16th Resistance Film Festival was held on Monday in Tehran on the occasion of Sacred Defense Week in the presence of some officials and artists.
National Sacred Defense Week that starts in Iran as of Shahrivar 31 (according to the Iranian calendar year) falling on September 21, marks the invasion of the Iraqi Ba'ath regime on Iran in 1980 when an eight-year imposed war began against Iran by the Iraqi former dictator Saddam Hussein who was later executed on 30 December 2006.

Iraq’s eight years of imposed war gave Iran 230,000 martyrs and 600,000 war-disabled while 43,000 Iranians were kept captive by the Iraqi forces and many others have gone missing.
