Mohsen Baharvand and Li Yong

During a meeting with the Director-General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs called for strengthening its efforts to assist member states.

Iran Press/ Europe: Mohsen Baharvand, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, met with  Li Yong, Director-General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), to highlight the organization's importance in the industrialization process in developing countries.

Baharvand appreciated the efforts of the Director-General and the actions of this organization in implementing some projects in Iran.

Rejecting the illegal and unilateral sanctions and their adverse effects on the people, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister called on UNIDO to step up its efforts to help member states.

 Li Yong also called Iran an essential member of UNIDO and presented a report on UNIDO's activities in Iran.

The Director-General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) also announced the organization's readiness to define new projects in the areas required by Iran.

Yesterday, at the meeting of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna, Baharvand explained the stance of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding the IAEA.

On the sidelines of the meetings, Baharvand also met with Rafael Grossi, Director-General of the IAEA, and Ghada Waly, Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.
