Iran, Pakistan emphasize increasing working hours of border crossings

The Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Quetta and the Head of Customs of Pakistan's Balochistan emphasized the need to increase the working hours of border crossings to develop joint trade.

Iran PressAsia: Hassan Darvishvand, Iran's Consul General in Quetta, and Abdul Waheed Marwat, Pakistan's Balochistan Customs Director, discussed ways to develop Iran-Pakistan trade relations, especially in the neighboring border provinces.

Referring to the historical ties and deep cultural similarities between Iran and Pakistan together with the will of high-ranking officials of the two countries to increase trade relations between the two countries, the Iranian Consul General in Quetta said: "By controlling the spread of the coronavirus, trade between the two countries is normalizing," he said.

Referring to the need to increase working hours on the Pakistan-Iran border, the Balochistan customs chief said: "The economies of the two countries are complementary."

"The government of Pakistan considers the development of relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran as a friendly and brotherly country as one of the priorities of its foreign trade policy," Abdul Wahid Marwat stressed.
