Tehran (IP) - The Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces for International Affairs Brigadier General Qadir Nezami stated that military cooperation between Iran and Pakistan is progressing well and has accelerated in recent years.

Iran Press/Iran news: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Sunday night, Brigadier General Qadir Nezami stated about the level of military cooperation between Iran and Pakistan, that the most important issue in the process of military cooperation between the two countries is the border security and resolving common border challenges.

He noted that the two countries are located on the shores of the Oman Sea and the Indian Ocean, play important roles in the Islamic world, and in peace and security of the region.

"Tehran and Islamabad have common views on regional peace and security," Nezami stressed. "Iran and Pakistan have good consultations on achieving security and stability in Afghanistan."

On the occasion of the 55th Defence Day of Pakistan, on Sunday in Tehran, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Tehran Rahim Hayat Qureshi called Iran a “brother country,” and said “Our two countries not only share geographical borders but a common heritage and values, based upon religion, culture, traditions, and ethnicity. We have excellent defense cooperation.”

The 55th Defence Day of Pakistan was celebrated in Tehran with the attendance of various officials from different countries, especially Iran and Pakistan.
