Tehran (IP) - Iran’s Health Minister said that today, for the first time in the country’s history, 53 health, medical centers were inaugurated.

Iran PressIran News: 53 health centers were inaugurated in Khuzestan and Fars provinces this morning (Tuesday) in the presence of Iran’s Minister of Health and Medical Education Saeed Namaki via videoconference.

Speaking during the third inauguration of health projects (National Health Path Campaign), Saeed Namaki opened 48 health, treatment, laboratory, and residential units in Khuzestan province, completion of three hospital projects in the cities of Kharameh, Estahban, and Abadeh in Fars province, and two health projects in Jahrom.

Namaki stated: "With the pressure of sanctions and the coronavirus pandemic in place, this year is the most unique and golden year in the development of health centers in the country, and for the first time in the history of Iran, 10,600 hospital beds in the format of 1400 projects including 2,000 ICU beds will open until April 01, 2021, and present it to the honorable people of Iran."

Speaking at the inauguration of 48 health and treatment projects in Khuzestan province, Namaki said: “Khuzestan is a holy land to which we all owe and whatever we do for this province is not enough to the sacrifices made by the people of the province."

The official went on to say: "My colleagues in the health centers of Khuzestan province were able to manage the severe coronavirus outbreak in Ahvaz, Abadan, Shadegan, Dezful and Shushtar and other cities of Khuzestan province at the height peak of the viral outbreak."

He also appreciated all the medical staff, nurses, hospital staff who sacrificed during this period, pointing out: “We are the nation of the third Infallible Imam of Shias Imam Hussein (AS), and we stand against any attack and make history.”

At the opening and completion of three hospitals in the cities of Kharameh, Estahban, and Abadeh, Namaki thanked the management of the COVID-19 epidemic in Fars province, saying: "We hope to increase empathy and harmony to both contain and manage the coronavirus outbreak and make the golden year of infrastructure development."

He also expressed hope that the 313-bed hospital in the city would be opened in the near future during the opening ceremony of Khatam al-Anbia Hospital in Jahrom.
