The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev reiterated that the relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran are expanding rapidly and have already entered a high level of ties.

Iran PressAsia: Aliyev met Iran's new ambassador to Baku, Seyed Abbas Mousavi, on Monday.

Referring to his recent talks with his Iranian counterpart on the further development of bilateral relations, he stated: "Important transportation projects, including International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC), are being implemented by the two countries, which can connect not only our countries but also the whole Eurasia."

He noted: "The Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran have achieved good results in other areas, including investment and electricity, and the relations between the two countries in the military and technical fields with a long history promise broader cooperation."

Referring to the will of the Tehran-Baku officials to improve mutual relations, Seyed Abbas Mousavi stated: "In this cordial and long meeting, Ilham Aliyev showed his determination to develop and promote bilateral relations in all aspects."

Mousavi arrived in Baku, the capital of the Republic of Azerbaijan, on August 21, 2020, and began his activity as the new ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to this country.
