Iran PressAmerica: Iranian Ambassador to Brazil Hossein Gharibi in a message on the occasion of 198th anniversary of the independence of Brazil, while congratulating the people and government of this country, announced the resumption of official activity of the friendship group between the two countries in the Brazilian parliament.

After nearly two years of stagnation and the inactivity of the friendship group since the 2018 parliamentary elections, a new group of 93 senators and representatives from various political parties and factions has begun its work.

The bilateral relations between Iran and Brazil are of special importance, especially during the post-corona period and the collective efforts of nations to eliminate economic damage and create comprehensive security in the form of multilateralism.

Relations between Tehran and Brasilia have a history of 117 years, and Iran was the first country to reopen its embassy in the new capital of Brazil in 1339 (1960).
