Tehran (IP) - Pakistan’s Ambassador to Tehran Rahim Hayat Qureshi said that his country and Iran have excellent defence cooperation.

Iran Press/Iran News: Speaking on Sunday in Tehran on the occasion of the 55th Defence Day of Pakistan, Qureshi called Iran a “brother country,” saying: “Our two countries not only share geographical borders but a common heritage and values, based upon religion, culture, traditions, and ethnicity. We have excellent defense cooperation.”

The Pakistani diplomat referred to the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy and hoped that “the future generations shall witness a world free of this menace which is achievable through collective action and mutual cooperation.”

Pointing to the disputes in the Indian-controlled Jammu and Kashmir, Qureshi said: “The international community must play its role in peacefully resolving these outstanding disputes.”

The 55th Defence Day of Pakistan was celebrated in Tehran with the attendance of various officials from different countries, especially Iran and Pakistan.
