Rasht (IP) - The fifth conference of 'role models of patience' was held on the occasion of the International Day of Remembrance and Respect for the Victims of Terrorism with the participation of professors, cultural figures, human rights activists, UN officials and Iranian officials in Rasht, the capital of Gilan province.

Iran Press/Iran News: The Association for the Defense of Victims of Terrorism held the fifth conference the of 'role models of patience' on Sunday in Gilan province, northern Iran, to commemorate the martyrs and veterans of terrorism. Gilan province has 144 martyrs who were assassinated by terrorist groups.

Abdullah Pakari, Director General of the Martyr and Veterans Affairs Foundation of Gilan Province, read a message from Saeed Ouhadi, Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and President of the Martyr and Veteran Affairs Foundation.

In this message, Saeed Ouhadi said: "The Iranian nation has been the victim of the sinister phenomenon of evil terrorism."

In his message, the Iranian head of the Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans emphasized that the world is insecure due to terrorism, adding: "The Islamic Republic of Iran, however, is in security and peace, and this security is owed to the blood of the martyrs."

The Association for the Defense of Victims of Terrorism pursues the program of educating victims of terrorism as an effective strategy in undermining the social foundations of terrorism, with the central slogan 'Let's curb terrorism by honoring the victims of terrorism.'
